Background

“Rodogune” is a bronze sculpture by Max Fueter, made in 1975 and placed in section G4 of the Bremgarten Cemetery in Bern, at the grave monument of Max Fueter. Fueter (1898–1983) worked as a sculptor, draughtsman and watercolourist, and in 1938 he won a City of Bern competition for a fountain. The Bremgarten Cemetery opened in 1864. Today the site is increasingly becoming a park, as cremation rises and burials without headstones become more common.
