Background
The untitled work (ohne Titel) by Tonio Ciolina (1959) consists of glass windows with lantern glass and is in the stairwell of the Stöckacker school building, Bienenstrasse 5, Bern. Ciolina was part of the circle of friends that the painter Max von Mühlenen made in France. In 1931 Mühlenen founded the artists’ group “Der Schritt weiter” together with Ciolina and others. No reliable details on this window or on how it came to be in the school are documented yet.
