The bag of empty bottles is already by the door. Recycling Bern shows you the nearest collection point for glass, PET, aluminium or clothes.

How it works

  1. At the top, switch on the groups you need, for example only glass.
  2. Tap “Nearest collection point” (Nächste Sammelstelle). The app shows the distance and the walking route with walking time.
  3. Tap the point and check what is accepted there.

Five groups

The points are colour-coded: glass, PET, aluminium and cans, clothes, and collection points for everything else. If a collection point accepts several materials, it appears under each matching group, for example under glass and under PET. The number next to each group shows how many points belong to it.

What is accepted?

The point tells you what is accepted, for example glass bottles, cans, batteries, coffee capsules or shoes. Where recorded, it also shows operators such as Stadt Bern, Texaid, Coop or Migros, and the opening hours. Named places include the Sammelstelle Talweg / Talgut-Zentrum and the Entsorgungsstelle Herrenschwanden.

Where does the data come from?

From OpenStreetMap (ODbL). No tracking: only the routing service gets your location, and only the start and end of the walk. If a collection point is missing or a detail is wrong, correct it directly in OpenStreetMap.
