Suggest an artwork: how a work gets onto the map

The map “Kunst in Bern” shows a lot, but not everything. If you know a work that is missing, you can suggest it with just a few details.

How it works

  1. Open the map and move it so that the work is exactly in the middle. The middle of the map becomes the location.
  2. Tap “Suggest a place” and choose what it is: artwork, mural or gallery.
  3. Write the title or name. If you know the artist, enter their name.
  4. Attach your own photo if you like, and send the suggestion.

What happens to the photo?

The photo is optional. It is made smaller on your phone and loses its GPS data in the process. Before you send it, you confirm three things: you took the photo yourself, it shows no recognisable people, and übrig may show it on uebrig.ch, in posts by übrig and Bärn Kit and in printed material (e.g. a poster or flyer). You keep the rights to the photo. If you want, you give a name or initials. It is then shown as the photo credit.

Who checks the suggestion?

Every suggestion is checked by hand before it appears on the map. Please only one suggestion per place, and no private addresses or people.

A photo of a work already on the map

You can also add photos to works that are already on the map, under the same rules.
