The City of Bern lists the material as aluminium or concrete, with the entry marked as uncertain. Serge Brignoni (1903–2002) was a painter and sculptor from Switzerland whose work had an avant-garde character. From 1919 he trained at Bern's applied arts school under Victor Surbek. Afterwards he also made lithographs and collages, alongside sculpture and painting. In 1940 he had to return to Switzerland because of the Second World War.
