Background

“Musizierende Figuren” are stucco reliefs from 1956 in the stairwell of the Konservatorium Bern, Rathausgasse 35, made by Max Fueter. Fueter was born in Konolfingen in 1898 and died in Bern in 1983. He worked as a sculptor, draughtsman and watercolourist. At the conservatory he also made the fountain “Der Flötenspieler” (The Flute Player), which was set up in 1940 under an arcade. Further background on the stucco reliefs themselves is not documented yet.
