The school holidays of the City of Bern state schools are listed for the school years 2026/27, 2027/28 and 2028/29 as the Schulamt has published them: autumn, winter, the February week, spring and summer holidays, plus other days off school such as the Friday after Ascension. Anything the city has not published yet is marked “not published yet”.

The public holidays follow the cantonal Act on rest on public holidays: high holidays such as Good Friday, Ascension and Christmas, and the other public holidays such as 2 January, Easter Monday, Whit Monday and 26 December. For every holiday the page says what applies to shops, whether there is school and, for 2026, what the city’s waste calendar says.
