How it works

1. Open the Märit-Kalender. Today's weekday is already selected.
2. See which markets are open, with place, type of market and time. Choose a different day at the top.
3. Tap “Subscribe to calendar” (Kalender abonnieren) so that market days and Sunday shopping days appear in your calendar app.

The weekly markets

The list “All weekly markets” ranges from the food and plant market on the Bundesplatz and the Bärenplatz and the goods market on the Waisenhausplatz to the neighbourhood markets (Quartiermärit) at the Breitenrainplatz, the Loryplatz and in the Länggasse. There are also evening markets (Abendmärit), for example at the Eigerplatz, the craft market on the Münsterplattform and the flea market on the Münsterplatz. Markets that only run in certain months only show as open then.

Once a year

Here you find the Zibelemärit on the fourth Monday in November, the Christmas markets, the Sternenmarkt, the Brotmarkt and the Wildpflanzenmärit / Geraniummärit. When Sunday shopping days are coming up in the city centre, the page shows them with BernCity as the source.

Where the times come from

From bern.ch. If anything differs, the city applies. There are no markets on public holidays. The calendar subscription covers two years ahead and leaves out public holidays. For Android and Google there is a calendar file.
