Background
The untitled bronze sculpture stands in the Schosshalden cemetery in Bern, above the lawn known as Parkwiese. Its maker is not known, and the City data do not give a date of origin. The cemetery opened in 1877 and was extended several times afterwards. At 16.8 hectares it is the largest cemetery in the city. Further details on this work are not documented yet.
