Background
The wooden doors “Szenen aus der Passion Christi”, clad with bronze, are at the bridge door of the Nydegg church in Bern. Marcel Perincioli (1911–2005) was the son of the sculptor Etienne Perincioli, who had emigrated from Piedmont. He made two bronze doors for the Nydegg church, which Fred Zaugg sees as central to his work. The scenes date from 1953 to 1955.
