Background
“Szenen aus dem Neuen Testament” (Scenes from the New Testament) by Marcel Perincioli, made 1953–1955, is the main door of the Nydegg church at Nydegghof 2 in Bern, made of wood fitted with bronze. Marcel Perincioli (1911–2005) was a Swiss sculptor born in Bern and the son of the sculptor Etienne Perincioli. He made two bronze doors for the Nydegg church, and during the church's renovation from 1951 to 1953 the main entrance received a portal with bronze reliefs by him. Later he received many commissions for public buildings and churches.
