The Treppenhaus-Zettel: a friendly way to offer help
At the top: what you can help with. Below: where you could use some help yourself. The Treppenhaus-Zettel (stairwell note) is a friendly notice for your building.

How it works
- Tap what you can help with and what you need help with.
- Enter your first name, floor, door and how to reach you.
- Print the note on A4 and hang it up in the stairwell.

What you can tap
The sentences are ready-made. You tap what fits, and you can add your own words. Offers include shopping, taking in a parcel, watering plants, lending tools or listening over a coffee. Needs include carrying heavy things, a lift to the doctor, understanding forms or setting up a phone.
How people reach you
You write your first name or something like “the Müller family”, plus floor and door. You choose how people can reach you (phone, doorbell or a note in the letterbox) and when is best. At the bottom you can add six tear-off strips with your contact. The note can appear in German, French, English, Ukrainian or Slovak.
Good to know
Your details never leave your device. Only hang the note where the house rules allow it, and if in doubt, ask the property management. For organised help between neighbours in Bern, see Nachbarschaft Bern.
