Stairwell note: neighbourly help notice
A note for the stairwell in Bern: I can help with … / I need help with … Fill in, print, put up. Your entries are not sent.
The stairwell note is a notice for your building: at the top, what you can help with; below it, where you could use help yourself. Fill in, print, put up in the stairwell. The sentences are ready-made, you just tap what fits and can add your own words. The note starts with “Hello neighbours” and ends with the invitation “Just get in touch”.
Offers to tap include, for example, shopping, receiving parcels, watering plants, lending tools or listening over coffee. The needs include carrying heavy things, a lift to the doctor, understanding forms, setting up a phone or company on a walk.
You enter your first name, or something like “the Müller family”, your floor and door, how to reach you (phone, doorbell, note in the letterbox) and the best time. At the bottom of the note you can add six tear-off strips with your contact. The note itself can be in German, French, English, Ukrainian or Slovak. It prints on A4 straight from the browser.
Your details never leave your device. Only put the note up where the house rules allow, and if in doubt ask the property management. For organised help between neighbours in Bern there is Nachbarschaft Bern.
