Lost something in Bern? How to get it back

Keys gone, wallet left on the tram? “Verloren?” asks you one or two questions and then shows you the office that might have your things.

How it works

  1. Pick what you lost: keys, wallet or bag, ID card or passport, bank card, phone or bike. For an ID card, bank card, phone or bike the app shows straight away whom to contact.
  2. For keys, a wallet or a bag it also asks where it happened: in the street, a shop or a park, on a tram or bus, on a train or at the station, or on RBS or PostBus.
  3. Call the office with the button or open the online form.

Who has my things?

Depending on your answers, the app shows the City of Bern lost property office (Fundbüro), the BERNMOBIL Servicecenter, the SBB lost property service, the lost property offices of RBS and PostAuto, or the police. Each answer card shows what the office states: address, hours, costs, a button to call and the link to the online form. Items found on trams and buses usually reach the BERNMOBIL Servicecenter at Bubenbergplatz 5 the next morning.

The checklist

Under each answer is what you can do now: write down the line, direction and time, block your cards with your bank straight away, or have the frame number and a photo of your bike ready. In Switzerland there is no single number for blocking cards at all banks. For stolen bikes and phones, the app points you to Suisse ePolice, and for ID documents to the ID centres of the canton of Bern.

Where does the information come from?

From the websites of the offices themselves, each with its source and the date it was checked. No account, no tracking, your choices stay on your device.
