Background
"Raumwinkel horizontal" is a galvanized steel sculpture by Werner Witschi from 1962, standing in front of an apartment block of the former Tiefenau Hospital in Bern. Witschi was born in Urtenen in 1906 and died in Bolligen in 1999; he was a painter and iron sculptor. The Tiefenau Hospital was founded in 1913 as the city's second hospital, beside the Zieglerspital. It stood in the Tiefenau district in the north of Bern. Hospital operations ended in December 2023.
