Background

"Jüngling mit Taube" is a bronze sculpture by Robert August Schmitz from 1957, cast by the lost-wax process. It stands in front of an apartment block on the grounds of the former Tiefenau Hospital in Bern. The hospital was founded in 1913 as the city's second municipal hospital. The site lay in the north of the city, in the Tiefenau district. Operations ended in December 2023.
