Sicher feiern in Bern

Party safely: poster for bars and clubs

Poster and team card for bars and clubs in Bern: a code word for discreet help, protection against spiked drinks, getting home safely, emergency numbers. Free to print.

Party safely creates, in a few minutes, a poster for guests and a card for the team, made for bars, clubs, pubs and club events. At its core is a code word: anyone who feels uncomfortable or harassed says an inconspicuous sentence at the bar, such as “Is Anna here?”, and the team helps discreetly. The guest decides what happens.

The poster shows the code word in large type, three rules about your own drink and about suspected drink spiking, optionally a “Getting home safely” block mentioning the Moonliner night buses, plus the numbers 144, 117 and 112 and a taxi number. Without a taxi number, it shows 143 for Die Dargebotene Hand instead. A link to the reporting tool or an advice centre is printed as a QR code. The team card gives six steps for when a guest says the code word, from offering a quiet place to writing down the incident.

Here is how it works: enter the venue, the code word, the contact person and the taxi, choose the dark design for a club or the light one for a pub or party, then “Print poster” and “Print team cards” (2 × A5). The code-word sentence can also be printed on the poster in two further languages. Put it up on toilet doors, at the cloakroom or behind the bar, and brief the team for five minutes before the shift.

Your entries are not sent. The content follows public recommendations from the police and advice centres; details for Bern are available from the Bern cantonal police and the City of Bern (“Bern schaut hin”). The page does not replace a safety concept or training.
