Allergen-Poster

What this app does

Allergen poster: the 14 allergens

Allergen declaration for restaurants, take-aways, food trucks and club events in Bern: enter the dishes, tick 14 allergens, print the poster.

The allergen poster helps take-aways, bistros, food trucks and club events declare the allergens in their dishes in writing. In Switzerland, the 14 ingredients that most often cause allergies must also be declared for food sold loose (FDHA Ordinance on Food Information, LIV, Art. 5 and Annex 6). For this the poster shows a table: one row per dish, with the allergens it contains marked in red.

The legend lists the 14 allergens according to the LIV with examples, including cereals containing gluten, crustaceans, peanuts, nuts, celery, sulphur dioxide and sulphites, and molluscs. For establishments in Bern, the legend can be printed in two languages if needed. The form is available in German, French, Italian and English.

Here is how it works: enter dishes one by one with “+ Dish” or paste the menu as a list, one dish per line, for example rösti with fried egg, Älplermagronen or tomato soup. Then tap the allergens each dish contains and, if needed, add a remark such as “also available gluten-free”. You can choose a note on traces, a note that staff give information verbally with a contact person, and your own addition. “Print / save as PDF” produces an A4 poster, A4 landscape for many dishes, with the date shown as “As of”.

Your entries are not sent. The page does not replace an inspection by the food control authority: the business remains responsible for accuracy. If in doubt, check the recipe and the ingredient labels, or ask the cantonal food inspectorate.
